Home Learning 20.04.20
Week commencing Monday 20th April
There are lots of resources online to help us support you at home with your English. Hamilton Trust have published one-a-day lessons which include reading, writing and SPAG tasks. Alternatively, Literacy Counts and Talk for Writing have also written home learning packs. The idea is not to do it all, have a look at the resources below and choose those that interest you. I particularly like the resources from Talk for Writing as they use the story Jamanji as a stimulus. This links brilliantly with the work we did on The Lost Book of Adventure. Please share your best work on twitter so we can share in your proud achievements.
Oak National Academy have developed a set of online English lessons starting with descriptive settings. If you prefer to learn using videos then these would be good for you to do.
This week we are going to find out more about decimals following the WhiteRose Maths Homelearning.

Some lessons begin with the daily flashback, these are things we've learnt previously. Watch the powerpoint with your speakers on and then have a go at the accompanying worksheet. If you don't have a printer, you can have a go at most of the questions by just looking at the screen and jotting something down on the squared paper you had in your pack. When you have completed the tasks, you can be the teacher and mark your work. Don’t worry about mistakes, learn from them.
If you want to really challenge yourself and learn something new, The Oak Academy lessons this week are on Translation. We have not covered this in class 5 but it starts by recapping work from year 4 so watch the videos and have a go.
I would really like you to enjoy learning about things that interest you. Have a look at the NHS activities.
Also, here are some video lessons linked to different subject areas by Oaks Academy.
Have fun learning and remember to keep sharing the things you have done.
