Home Learning 15.06.20

Hello, I hope you and your family are well and safe. I continue to work in school full time with a group of key worker children. Please keep sending tweets and e-mails and lots of photos showing the activities you are up to as I love seeing them. I will reply as soon as I can.

English Home Learning

The Oak National Academy- comprehension, SPaG and writing.

Alternatively, use your comprehension or Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar book. Also, Hamilton Trust is available below. This week has work on the text The Promise. This is one of the texts we would have been using in school during the summer term to inspire quality writing.

This week there is a new rule on Spelling Frame linked to using hyphens. Do some research about when to use hyphens. Do remember to log in and to do the test after practising. You've got this. Another great spelling website is Sir Linkalot. Please sign up for free.

Maths Home Learning

Friday      Family Challenge   Answers

Also, remember the year 5 maths workbooks, Mathletics and TTRockstars.

Foundation subjects

Our whole school focus this week is food. Learning may involve finding out about where food originates from, what makes a healthy meal and opportunites to cook. If we had been at school, our history topic this term would have been about Ancient Greece. Perhaps you could start this topic by finding out about Greek Food. A challenge would be to design and cook a Greek meal for your family. Have fun!

Keep enjoying your learning. Look after your bodies by being physically active and look after youtr brains by using them daily to think about the World you live in and how we can all make it a better place. Be kind to your parents, siblings and most importantly to yourself. Stay positive and keep talking about how you are feeling. Try  to empathise with those around you by thinking and understanding their feelings. Remember you are all unique and terrific class 5 (you too parents, keep up the good work ).

Have a great week.
